Power Wellness Celebrates Crosby Wellness Center’s Grand Opening

LOMBARD, IL
April 30, 2019
The 30,000-square-foot Peggy & Philip B. Crosby Wellness Center within the 80,000-square-foot Center for Health & Wellbeing had its grand opening on April 28 in Winter Park, FL. In August 2015, the Winter Park Health Foundation (WPHF) proudly announced plans for the development of the Center for Health & Wellbeing–a state-of-the-art, unique healthy living center focused on improving the quality of life for residents from Winter Park, Maitland, Eatonville and the surrounding areas. It is the home of an all-new Peggy & Philip B. Crosby Wellness Center (which has been serving the community since 1989). In 2018, the Winter Park Health Foundation selected Power Wellness to manage the Center.

Every element of the Center for Health & Wellbeing has been intentionally designed to enhance the neighborhood. The mission-driven architecture draws its inspiration from the healing power of nature, transforming the 4.2-acre site into a series of gardens and a natural light-filled, central building surrounded by walking paths. The Center for Health & Wellbeing is not just a building, but a place designed to be experienced and to facilitate interactions between wholeness, fitness and medicine.

The Peggy & Philip B. Crosby Wellness Center is a 30,000-square foot medically integrated facility featuring state-of-the-art equipment along with a staff of degreed and certified wellness professionals who will provide all the education, support and encouragement needed to make a lasting commitment Members’ health. As a medically integrated fitness center, Crosby Wellness Center prides itself on providing dynamic services to fitness and health maintenance.

These services include:

  • Medical Fitness Programs
  • Personalized exercise plans
  • Comprehensive exercise facilities and exercise classes
  • Personal training and specialty programs
  • Nationally certified fitness specialists

“It’s a one-stop shop to stay healthy and stay whole,” said Winter Park Health Foundation’s Executive Vice President Deb Watson. “It’s not like your typical fitness center. We knew we needed to renovate [the old facility] because it was aging. Together, with our partner, we thought ‘let’s build something bigger and grander’. The staff members work with doctors to make sure that patients are being taken care of and share data on their fitness journey.”
