The CENTRE, Rolla’s Health & Recreation Complex
Achieves Medical Fitness Facility Certification
First in Missouri
The CENTRE, Rolla’s Health & Recreation Complex in Rolla has achieved Medical Fitness Facility certification by the Medical Fitness Association (MFA), the country’s leading organization dedicated solely to medically integrated wellness and fitness facilities.
The Medical Fitness Facility certification ensures that The CENTRE will focus on credible prevention and rehabilitation programs that will improve the health and wellness of individuals in Rolla and surrounding communities. Plus, the facility will feature the professional expertise and programming to safely and effectively assist people, regardless of their current health status, to develop, initiate and maintain an active lifestyle that minimizes the risk of illness and disease and promotes health and wellness.
“It is an honor to receive this certification from the MFA,” said Joshua Stephens, Interim Center Director of The CENTRE, Rolla’s Health & Recreation Complex. “This further validates us as a top-tier Medical Fitness Facility in the state of Missouri. I am so proud of the team here at Rolla. This would not have been possible without their hard work these past several months.”
This certification is a significant step forward in the health of the entire community and to individuals taking responsibility for their personal health. The CENTRE is the first certified Medical Fitness Facility in Missouri.
A number of key factors distinguish certified medical fitness centers, including:
- Active and regular medical oversight
- Certified and licensed staff
- Written policies and procedures concerning user safety and emergency response
- Disease management and prevention programs
- Health-risk reduction and therapeutic-lifestyle programs
- Individualized health screening
- Testing and outcome tracking
- Quality management, with a focus on measurable results
- A focus on improving community health
“As the incidence of chronic disease continues to rise, the need for medical fitness facilities to offer a high standard of programming for the communities they serve is more important than ever,” said David Flench, FACHE, FMFA, President and CEO of the Medical Fitness Association. “Studies have shown that when people maintain an active lifestyle, especially in a safe environment, they reduce the risk of illness down the road. The CENTRE has taken an important step in providing this extraordinary level of care.”
